JULY MALSP Meeting - The State of eDiscovery, Post COVID-19: Predictions

SYNOPSIS: 

Please join us for a panel discussion on “Predictions around: the state of eDiscovery post COVID-19; protecting your business post COVID-19; and growing your business post COVID-19” sponsored by JND eDiscovery.

Thank you to our panel of industry experts: Karen Andersen, Christopher Good, Jesse Kibort, and Scott Lombard, and our moderator, Sarah Mixdorf.

    MODERATOR:


    Sarah Mixdorf, Director eDiscovery Sales, JND eDiscovery

    Sarah is the Director of Sales for JND eDiscovery, a technology leader in the legal services industry. JND is dedicated to next generation technology, offering an end to end eDiscovery solution, including document review and data migration.

    Prior to JND, Sarah spent 15 years of her career working in the legal technology and administration industry where she consulted with corporate legal departments, compliance teams, government agencies and law firms regarding services and technology related to discovery and litigation support, risk & compliance, contract lifecycle management and information governance.

    Before starting her career in LPO, Sarah was a Judicial District Clerk for the State of Minnesota. In 2016, alongside a founding board, Sarah launched Ellevate Twin Cities, in her role as President. Ellevate is a global female professional networking group dedicated to gender parity in the workplace. In 2018, Sarah was recognized by Minnesota Business Magazine as a Women Who Lead Honoree.

    PANELISTS:


    Karen Andersen, Principal Consultant-Identity & Data Management Strategic Consulting, Optiv

    Karen has over 21 years of technology consulting experience across a variety of industries, specializing in cybersecurity, data management, GRC, and electronic discovery. She has direct experience in risk advisory, data breaches, and investigations.

    Prior to joining Optiv, Karen was a managing consultant in cybersecurity and an ESI Consultant working on litigation matters and incidents.


    Christopher Good, Director of Information Technology, Nichols Kaster, PLLP

    Christopher has nearly 20 years of experience in the legal technology field. He leads the firm's eDiscovery and Information Technology departments and directs the development, implementation, support, and use of the firm's IT systems. He evaluates the ever-changing demands of litigation and implements pragmatic solutions to address the firm’s technology challenges.

    Mr. Good has worked both in-house and as a consultant for law firms in Minnesota and California. His experience encompasses all phases of the EDRM from identification and collection through evidence presentation in a trial setting. Given his varied experience and understanding of the business of practicing law, Christopher provides creative solutions to otherwise complicated legal technology challenges.


    Jesse Kibort, Owner-Partner, Parker Daniels Kibort, LLC

    Jesse is a co-founder of Parker Daniels Kibort LLC. Based in Minneapolis, Jesse has vigorously represented his clients in state and federal courts throughout the United States. His clients range from individuals, to large national companies. In particular, he has extensive experience representing financial services firms involving multi-million dollar claims of negligence, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and violations of state and federal statutes.

    In addition to the financial services arena, Mr. Kibort has substantial experience in the areas of commercial contracts disputes, business disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, business torts, real estate litigation, breaches of contract, defending broker dealers, financial investment advisers and financial planners.


    Scott Lombard, Senior Vice President, JND eDiscovery

    As Senior Vice President of JND eDiscovery, and an SME, Mr. Lombard oversees the comprehensive aspects of the company’s global discovery management service, specializing in forensics, eDiscovery, secure hosting, analytics, and trial support.

    Before working in eDiscovery, Mr. Lombard was an Emerging Markets Officer for DataBuilder/Interwoven in the legal document management industry. Scott is a well-recognized speaker presenting to attorneys, insurance companies, and businesses regarding litigation support electronic discovery, compliance, risk management, and processes to migrate risk.
