March MALSP Meeting

TOPIC: Mobile discovery is here to stay. Is your team prepared?
Knowledge of the case and litigation objectives, along with an understanding of what is and isn’t possible in a mobile forensic investigation, create a winning strategy.

This presentation will review the lifecycle of a mobile discovery project using the two most common types of phone discovery matters:

  • Employee investigation involving a single device
  • In-depth eDiscovery involving multiple devices from multiple custodians
After the presentation, lawyers and litigation support professionals will be able to more effectively communicate with each other, the client and their digital forensics service provider about the ins and outs of mobile discovery. They’ll have the tools and know-how they need to manage the next phone that hits their desk.

Key Takeaways

  • Practical issues around identification
  • Coordinating logistics with the client
  • Best practices for collection of phone data
  • Scope of forensic examination of mobile data
  • Old and new options for review and production
